My Journey!

Welcome to my website!
I thought I would begin my first BLOG by explaining a little about myself. My name is Lauren and I am a Qualified Personal Trainer. I have always been into health and fitness, at school I looked forward to Physical Education (P.E) lessons and sometimes spent lunch times in the gym with friends. For a hobby I was in the school hockey team and was a member of a boxing club.
My Dad (John) was a true inspiration to me when it came to keeping fit. I was always a little tomboy at heart. As a little girl i used to sit on my Dad's feet and count his press ups and crunches. We had a side conservatory which my dad had converted into a mini gym with basic weights and what seemed to me to be a GIANT punch bag. I would go outside into the garden and watch him force this punch bag to swing from side to side with his fist. I admired his strength and determination, i watched the sweat dribble off his forehead and think to myself "yeah, thats my Dad!" I used to love 'playing' with him with the pads.
When I got to the age where I could make decisions for myself and after a lot of nagging my Dad allowed my cousin (Ricky) to take me to lessons and brought me my own pair of pink gloves! I still have them now!
Growing up the hobbies phased out, i tried different things like hip-hop dance lessons but not everything suited my two left feet! Ive talked about boxing a lot as it is still a sport that i enjoy and use it frequently as a part of training.
At college I joined a small gym where I only really did cardio work, and maybe a few resistance machines. I stayed mainly in the upstair small ladies section and didnt venture too far, wondering why changes werent happening.
In December 2014 I joined a newly opened gym Lifestyle Fitness and this was a massive change to what i was used to, there was so many things for me to experiment with and after a short while i become adicted, i found the gym fun and i started really noticing changes.
I did not aspire to become so into working out, health and fitness but i started making changes to my body. This amazed me as i never knew i could get my body a certain way, i was deluded by photoshop and thought for me i would never look any other way to what i did.
I frequently get people messaging me questions and asking for advise on how to make changes to their body, after looking at how much i have managed to change my physique. When you see the real effects of health and fitness and watch the journey of someone who has made such a change, you look to them for advice.
I realsied this is really something for me and I would love to do this for a living. To me the most rewarding job in the world is for somebody to make positive changes to their life, watching them suceed and knowing you helped them get there!
So I thought I would create my own page where people can speak to me for advice, get general information get personalised plans. I will be uploading more BLOG's on frequently asked questions, different workouts and techniques and more!
So welcome to the start of my journey!
Sculpt With Lauren.
